

Real Men Cook was launched in Chicago and has been adopted by ten cities to annually provide positive images of men in relationship to their families and communities. The Real Men Cook event has expanded to generate over $1 million to community non-profits and annually generates over 200 million media impressions through television, radio, and print.
In 2003, the founders of Real Men Cook launched the 501-c-3 organization, Real Men Charities, Inc., with the objective of building healthier families and communities by providing access to information supporting healthier choices. While operating as a community nonprofit Real Men Charities has over 5 years of experience partnering with organizations that make a difference including: Illinois Department of Public Health, University of Chicago Hospitals, Community Mental Health Council, YMCA and Kennedy-King College to produce programs promoting awareness of health issues including: Obesity, HIV, Prostate Cancer, Hepatitis, and Mental Health. Real Men Charities has also hosted several screenings and hundreds have been tested, including: HIV, Prostate Cancer, and Hepatitis.
Real Men Charities has also affected the lives of thousands of youth through event's targeted at children including World AIDS Day, Real Men Cook with Kids®, and the stage play, Real Men Talking.
Throughout the year for local and national events, Real Men Charities, Inc. provides Real Men for nutritional cooking demonstrations for children and adults and presents the Real Men Charities, Inc. Health & Wellness Pavilion at Real Men Cook events in all ten cities on Father’s Day.
Real Men Charities is currently seeking funds to continue our work and to launch Real Simple Path, an online family philanthropy movement to connect men with their children, reduce the Digital Divide and to assist men in adjusting to social and economic conditions to strengthen families and communities.
Nationally, Real Men Charities is investigating the possibilities of expanding Real Men Cook to Charlotte, NC; Cincinnati, OH Cleveland, OH; Denver, CO; and other markets.
