- 1st Father's Day "Men Who Cook" food/family celebration event in Chicago, IL
- Sanctioned by Lana Turner, creator of "Men Who Cook" in New York, NY
- Leading men including former mayor Eugene Sawyer and his sons, TV weatherman
  John Coleman and Chicago Cub MBL All Star Gary "Sarge" Matthews of the Chicago
  appeared on the front cover of the event cookbook.
- Recipes included "Michael Jordan's Slam Dunk Gumbo". Participants included
   Monroe Anderson, Bill Campbell, Cuttie Bacon, Emmett Vaughn, Stedman Graham,
   Alderman Danny K Davis
- Chicago Event Proceeds Donation: $15,000, $5000 each to DuSable Museum,
   LifeSource, Chicago Food Depository
- Founders, Kofi Moyo and Yvette Moyo, marketing specialist, craft a Father's Day tradition

   Ben's Rice, American Airlines, Shell Oil and Northern Trust
- Proceeds from Father's Day events to James Jordan Boys & Girls Club, Dr. King
   Boys & Girls Club, South Side YMCA, Community Mental Health Council,
   DuSable Museum and more.

- Real Men Cook expands to in six cities and becomes the largest urban Father's
   Day celebration
- Mayor Marc Morial hosts the event in New Orleans
- Doug Banks and Malik Yoba host Real Men Cook in New York
- Congressman John Conyers hosts Real Men Cook in Detroit
- Prostate screening campaign "Have you Been Tested," launches in partnership with   
   physicians
